WHAT IS ENDOVENOUS LASER ABLATION THERAPY? (EVLT PROCEDURE)
Endovenous Laser Ablation Therapy (EVLT) is a minimally invasive procedure that uses catheters, lasers, and ultrasound for varicose veins treatments. This procedure is performed most often on veins that are still relatively straight and untwisted.

Then, more layers of topical anesthetic are placed around the vein, and the lase is pulled out slowly. The procedure uses laser energy through a concentrated beam of laser light delivered with razor-sharp precision directly to the affected tissue. This ensures that the surrounding area is unaffected. Moreover, this causes blood to stop flowing through the vein. During recovery, circulation will become more efficient, and the faulty vein shrinks and fades. WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE EVLT VARICOSE VEINS TREATMENT?
Patients can resume normal activities right away without having to be admitted to a hospital. This decreases the amount of bruising or swelling that can happen after the procedure. WHAT ARE SOME SIDE EFFECTS
EVLT is one of the safest procedures to eliminate varicose veins. However, just like any procedure, there might be some minimal complications such as infection, bruising, Bleeding, swelling numbness, pulling sensation or phlebitis. Deep venous thrombosis is rare and will require the use of blood thinner if it happens for at least 3 months’ duration. However, these complications are very uncommon. Most insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid, will pay for procedures related to the treatment of symptomatic varicose veins, venous insufficiency, venous stasis ulcer, or bleeding varicose vein.
